Who we are

LAYER 01 (“we”, “us”) operates layer01.studio. We produce campaign-ready stills and motion for premium consumer brands. We are based in Berlin, Germany. For privacy inquiries, contact us at hello@layer01.studio.

What we collect

When you use our contact form or email us directly, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, company name, brand category, and campaign or message details. We also collect technical server logs required for hosting, security, and debugging. In addition, we use Vercel Speed Insights for anonymous performance measurement (Web Vitals, routes, device type, browser, country, network class) and Vercel Analytics for anonymous usage data (page views, referrers, device type, country). Neither service identifies individual visitors or uses cookies.

How we use it

We use your contact information to respond to inquiries, understand the type of project you are planning, and communicate with you about projects or our services. Server logs are used for security, debugging, and operating the site. Anonymous data from Vercel Speed Insights and Vercel Analytics helps us improve load times, site experience, and content. We do not sell your data to third parties and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process contact form and email inquiry data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures taken at your request) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling inquiries). Server logs and anonymous performance measurements are processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure and technically reliable website).

Service providers

We use the following infrastructure and delivery providers to operate this site and its contact channels:

• Vercel Inc. (USA) — website hosting, content delivery, anonymous performance measurement via Vercel Speed Insights, and anonymous usage statistics via Vercel Analytics. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Resend Inc. — transactional email delivery for website form submissions. Privacy policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• ImprovMX (Vanilla Forums Inc.) (USA) — email forwarding for messages sent to hello@layer01.studio. Because our website forms are delivered to that address, form emails may also be forwarded to our inbox through ImprovMX. Privacy policy: improvmx.com/privacy.
• Namecheap Inc. (USA) — domain registrar and DNS infrastructure. Contact form content is not delivered to Namecheap. Privacy policy: namecheap.com/legal/general/privacy-policy.

Data storage, security, and retention

Form submissions are transmitted via encrypted connections (TLS) and delivered to our inbox. We keep project inquiries only as long as reasonably necessary to handle the inquiry and related business communication, generally up to 24 months unless you request earlier deletion. Infrastructure and delivery providers may retain technical logs or metadata according to their own retention policies.

Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use Vercel Speed Insights and Vercel Analytics for anonymous performance and usage measurement; neither service sets its own cookies and, according to Vercel, neither is tied to individual visitors or IP addresses. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can also object to processing, request data portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for us: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit). To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@layer01.studio. We will respond within 30 days.

International transfers

Some of our providers are located outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. Where personal data is processed in third countries, we rely on the transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards made available by the relevant providers.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date.
